Being a mom can have its ups and downs, for sure. I have to say that my children give me both the best and most trying days of my life. I don’t like to say the ‘worst’ days, because I truly love my kids and don’t know what I would do without them.Â
That being said, lately my youngest, Jasmine, (the one in the picture with me in the “about” section) who will be three in April, has begun to talk more like a six year old. She cracks me up daily, and can be so serious by times - and then silly (as she should be) the rest of the time.Â
On Sunday I dressed to go to church, and wore a pair of dress pants and a nice top. Jasmine told me that I looked beautiful, and of course, I believed her. Why would she lie? lol. Anyway, after church we went to the flea market, and then home to change for skating. I took off my ‘nice’ clothes and put on a pair of splash pants and a T-shirt, and Jasmine was sitting with her dad, watching me pack the skating bag. She then looked at me with such seriousness, and those big eyes that are more full of emotion than anyone I’ve ever known, and said, “Awwe, Mommy, you’re not beautiful anymore.” Ouch. I laughed, as did my husband, of course, and then she realized that she may have hurt my feelings and started to say, “you’re beautiful Mommy”, and give me a fake smile, but it was too late. Damage was done. lol
