Okay, I haven’t been a great girl lately in the weight loss department. I haven’t gained anything back, but I also haven’t been working out as much as I had before - or as much as I should still be. I don’t know if it’s because the kids have been sick and I find I’m drained at the end of the day, or if I’m just making excuses. We all do that, for sure! But I still look forward to doing the Yoga exercises, and have been doing them three times a week. I was doing them five days, but that was a little too much.  Now I try to split it between the treadmill and the yoga - doing each three days a week and taking the seventh day off. I take Monday nights off to watch “24″ with my hubby, and it is also the night I get to eat after 7pm. I try to keep it to around 9pm or before, so I can have the two hours before bedtime that they say you need with nibbling at night.Â
The weather was beginning to change, so I thought perhaps getting out walking would be an idea. However, mother nature decided that we didn’t get enough (or any, really) snow over the winter, so now we’ve been hit with not one, but two winter storms in the past week. Hard to believe, isn’t it? But we’re Canadian, and we’re tough. Yeah, right. At least that’s what the perky chick on the radio said this morning. She must have had her coffee early.Â
Keep up the good work if you’re still trying to lose weight. I’m not giving up, and you shouldn’t either. Have a good one!

I know I’m not the first person to ever try and lose weight, and I know I won’t be the last. But I am going to try and keep a record of how I’m doing and perhaps this will help me - and anyone else out there struggling - to find a way to lose those extra pounds without the stress of diets, painful exercise, or cosmetic surgery!
I have three children, and often “blamed” them for my fat behind, my saggy belly, and now sagging boobs. But let’s get real here. It’s not having the babies…it’s not trying to lose the weight AFTER the babies. Actually most of my weight came post pregnancy. I was one of those people who never gained much during pregnancy, and with all three kids left the hospital in my jeans. I gained twenty pounds with my first, seventeen with the second, and only eleven with the third; yet managed to have three 9lb+ babies. Yet I now have about fifty pounds on me that came suddenly somewhere between baby number one and baby number three.
I put on sympathy weight? That’s what we could say. I felt guilty for not putting it on for the baby, so it came afterwards. The first baby was nothing…I bounced back and was firm and tight and everything. Yeah, and I was 21. That’s not so easy now. I decided this year that I was going to bite the bullet and do something about it. And so far, so good.
I’ve read about diets, watched shows like Oprah and Dr. Phil and laughed at the TV screen when they said “you can do this too!” I hate it when I see celebritys with their toned post baby bodies……yeah, if I had a trainer, a home gym, and millions of dollars I could do it too. But what I DO have in my home are some simple essentials. I have a treadmill, a television set, and a DVD player. How do these help, you ask?
Well, let me tell you. I walk on the treadmill - not run, because it’s just not fair to the children to make them think there’s an earthquake - and I bought a Yoga DVD. Yes, Yoga. I love it! It’s fun, it’s easy, and since January I’ve lost 18 pounds! Go me! So you CAN do it……just don’t fool yourself into thinking it’ll happen overnight. It will come when you’re ready! I promise!
