Trial By Fire
February 17, 2012Trial By Fire: A Retelling of the Bellerophon Myth
When Prince Bellerophon finds himself responsible for the death of two men – including his brother, he is sent into exile and then on a suicide mission, to kill
a beast called the chimera. The chimera is a creature with the body and head of a lion, a goat’s head that emerges from its back, and a serpent for a tail.
She breathes a steady stream of fire and prowls in her volcanic lair.
Bellerophon is rumored to be the son of the Earth-shaker god Poseidon. He is mortal, but faces odds that no mortal can stand against. The chimera is the
daughter of Typhon, who challenged all of the Greek gods in combat. The only thing that can save him is surrendering to the beautiful Queen Anteia,
undermining his loyalty to his wife Chrysanthe. Will he choose life or loyalty?
